Black Bear Hamster

If you are looking for a Black Bear Hamster, then you should do some research and make sure you have enough knowledge to properly take care of it. That includes feeding, bedding, a good hamster cage, and how to get your hamster enough exercise to keep it healthy.

While they look really cool and are fun to play with, you should always take proper care to make sure your hamsters are not in extreme conditions. Big swings from hot to cold are not good for them and can cause problems. Most black bear hamsters are friendly and kids really like to watch and play with them.

I am not sure if they are a separate type, or if the coloring just gives them their name, but I have had much success with them over the past few years.

The Black Bear hamster should have a nice cage that gives it the opportunity to move around and get exercise. We all do not have time to put them in a toy ball and let them roll around, especially if you have dogs or cats in the house. Best play it save and just get a big cage and then they should get enough exercise in there. It would be a good treat to let them out every once in a while though if you can do so in a safe manner.

Cages are important, but the bedding material is really key. Be sure to change it often and provide enough material so they can stay warm or cold depending on the season.

Once it starts to smell then it is time to change it. Normally you can go a month or so depending on the size of the cage or area they are in. It is also vital to give plenty of water and be sure it is full at all times. Better be safe than sorry so fill it up daily so you remember and make it part of your routine.

Buy a quality food too and if you give them treats make sure they are healthy items and not junk food. That does nothing good for them. Even though we like the food, it does not mean it is good for them.

Many times if you follow these basic rules your blackie can live for quite some time. They are gentle and cool hamsters that make good pets.
